The word ‘Dravyaguna’ means the science dealing with propertries and actions of drugs. This is counterpart of modern pharmacology. The knowledge regarding medicinal value of plants is studied.Dravyaguna (Ayurvedic Pharmacology) has been taken in accounts so that one can understand the action of various drugs properly.  Ayurvedic pharmacology is being dealt with these terms- Rasa (taste), Guna (Properties), Virya (active principles), Vipak (Biotransformation) and Prabhav (Specific action). Detail Knowledge of drugs is delt with respect to  Latin name , Family,Basonym, synonyms,gana vargikarna, Morphology, chemical constitutes,Guna karma ,part used , formulations eg Agaru, agnimanth,amalaki, Arjuna,etc ..like wise 104 drugs..And Brief knowledge of drugs with respect to Latin name ,Sanskrit name, family,Habit , part used and indication is delt for about 148 drugs..

Modern pharmacology aspects with respect to definition branches of pharmacology and different system wise like sedatives , hypnotic, carminative , digestive, antihelimenthics , antimicrobial etc..

Animal origin drugs like kasturi etc ..and Annapana Vargas will be taught..

Practically for the identification of drugs garden visit ..and dry drugs in the museum drugs are shown with all Morphological and therapeutical explanation..

To understand the internal structure of the drugs section taking of drugs is taught with explanation and daigram representation..

For the preservation of drugs herbarium collection is done by students during garden and field visit..
