Shalakya Tantra is a holistic approach to treating diseases related to the eyes, ears, nose, throat, and head, and emphasizes the importance of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment using natural remedies and therapies.
Scope and service of our OPD includes Vision test (near vision, distant vision, colour vision), Issuing certificate for driving license, Slit lamp examination, Tonometry ( IOP checking), Ophthalmoscopy, Schirmer’s test, Fluorescene staining, Otoscopy, Anterior Rhinoscopy, Tuning fork tests, Ear wax hooking, Ear canal syringing etc.
Shalakya Tantra is a branch of Ayurveda that deals with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related to the eyes, ears, nose, throat, and head.
Sub-specialties:
- Netra Chikitsa: Deals with eye diseases and their treatment.
- Karna Chikitsa: Deals with ear diseases and their treatment.
- Nasa Chikitsa: Deals with nose diseases and their treatment.
- Mukha Chikitsa: Deals with mouth and throat diseases and their treatment.
- Shira Chikitsa: Deals with head diseases and their treatment.

- Develop skills: Train students in various Shalakya Tantra procedures, including Netra Basti, Karna Basti, and other Ayurvedic techniques.
- Promote research: Encourage students to conduct research in Shalakya Tantra and contribute to the development of Ayurvedic ophthalmology and otolaryngology.
