Department of Rasashastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana
Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana combines pharmacognosy, pharmaceutics, nutraceuticals and pharmacology.
It covers the selection of genuine raw drugs, their collection, the processing of poisonous herbs, and the manufacture of herbal, herbo-mineral and herbo-metallic formulations with their indications, dose, vehicle and diet. Students train in the college's teaching pharmacy.
Vision
- To attain perfection in the pharmaceutical processing of Ayurvedic formulations with standard operating procedures.
Mission
- To develop standard-quality dosage forms of Ayurvedic formulations, without altering basic concepts, for the greatest therapeutic benefit.
Objectives
- Sound theoretical knowledge and practical skills of Kalpa by the end of the course
- Develop and validate classical formulations using advanced technology, for safety and efficacy
- Combine academic excellence with scientific research in Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana
